Good nutrition is vital to your pet’s health.
Animal Health Centre staff are trained to give you the best advice about the diet most appropriate for your pet.
A wide range of diets are offered to cater for dogs’ and cats’ different lifestyles, ages and sizes. This includes diets that can help clean the teeth, control hair balls in cats and help sensitive skins and stomachs.
In addition, we offer specific Veterinary prescription diets which can make a real difference in the treatment of many health problems. These include gastrointestinal problems, including Pancreatitis, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Lower Urinary Tract Disease, Skin Disease, Diabetes, Mellitus, Arthritis and Obesity.
Please ring or call in to receive free nutrition counselling for your pet from one of our friendly and experienced staff.
Weight Management
Animal Health Centre veterinarians and veterinary nurses can give advice to help with any weight problems that your animal may have.
If it is a simple problem of exercise or incorrect diet, the problem could be solved by the nurse on the day, or after working out a dietary plan. If it is a more serious problem associated with an underlying disease, it may be necessary to see a vet on a separate visit.
Dogs maintained at their optimal/ideal weight in a Massey study lived up to two years longer and suffered less osteoarthritis, diabetes, and other degenerative diseases.
Make a call to one of our receptionists and make a booking to have one of our nurses check your animal's weight and condition. The improvements in your pet's health, demeanour and attitude will be well worth it.
